Itchin’ to Paint Again…

A few weekends ago, I was tackling my to-do list around the house and began filling holes in the walls with spackle. Let me just say there were a lot of holes to fill as a result of my hammer-happy ways. So then, of course, I had to touch up those areas with paint. Once the paint dried, I noticed that in the hallway and office, that the colors did not match up! I do not know if I did not stir the paint well enough or if the paint is too old. In any order, I was debating painting over the Sherwin Williams Whole Wheat anyway.

Then, I stumbled across this photo of Joni’s new living room that she posted this week over at her blog, Cote de Texas. I was immediately inspired by the color of her creamy, mushroom-y walls. Joni used Pratt & Lambert Feathered Gray. Such a perfect shade of gray-ish/taupe! (click on each picture to make larger)

And, Sherwin Williams is having a sale this weekend! 40% of all paints and stains and 30% off painting supplies. I suppose this is my perfect opportunity to repaint the office and hallway!

Guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend! Good-bye yellow! Hello gray! Stay tuned as I post before/after photos. :)

I’ve been working on some small updates in my office this week. I will post pictures soon!

I helped a sweet friend last night with her living area. She is newly married and needed some ideas for merging her style with her husband’s. I think there are so many people who have experienced that same challenge! She lives in a cool loft, but the layout/space was another issue. Stay tuned because I will do a post on this soon too!

I am so so glad it is the weekend! I leave you with this lovely office space from Ashley Goforth.

I am busy busy busy (like everyone else) finishing up work, last minute errands, and wrapping galore! It can be hectic but so fun at the same time! Can’t believe Christmas is days away.

Office from Little Green Notebook

I am loving this office re-do that Jenny of Little Green Notebook posted over a year ago. In my opinion, an office can be a tricky room to decorate. Ours is constantly teetering on the edge of a catch-all room, a landing spot for misfit furniture. Jenny’s office is such a great inspiration and example of how one can use what she has to transform a “blah” room into a functional, practical, and cute room! … And the best part of all– she spent $0!!

My favorite parts of the room are the rug, credenza, the lamps, and the window shade, plus the fact that she spend no money at all! Great job, Jenny!

Dave & Joi’s Office

I’m loving this office space that belongs to Dave and Joi of Nuestra Vida Dulce. I’m such a sucker for black and white, and those curtains are rockin! Even more impressive is, she hand-painted those babies! I also really like the size of the Craigslist loveseat. You should definitely check out their blog for oodles of DIY ideas!

So much color= happiness!

I have the same white lacquer box that sits on her credenza– good ole’ Home Goods! Great job, Dave and Joi!
