Before & After: Outdoor Chairs
This before and after has been a long time coming! Not only has it been way too long since I’ve posted a ‘before and after,’ but this is a project that I have intended to complete for um, 2 years! Yes, you read correctly… 2 years! And the project has been a fairly simple one, so as far as excuses go, I’m empty-handed. Anyway, a few years ago, I was needing some patio furniture and happened across this set at a garage sale for $35. So I took it home with me. Here is what the patio table and chairs looked like when I first bought it:
The seats also were in desperate need of new fabric, as you can see. I will admit, I was not in love with the sun motif on the back of the chairs, but with a fresh coat of paint, they began to take on a new life.
During:
They were starting to look much better and actually stayed this way for a year, until I finally recovered the seats.
Ugh, nastiness.
I found some great outdoor fabric by Tommy Bahama at Joann’s. I love the fun pattern and color!
Finally… after paint and recovered seats…the patio chairs look like this:
After!
Just in time to enjoy summer evenings on the patio by the pool!
Aren’t the pineapples in this pattern fabulous? I love how the green in the fabric complements the striped pillows on my chaise lounges.

I love it!!! Isn’t it so fun to find a bargain & really turn it into something you’ll love to use?
You did a lovely job refinishing your patio furniture! The fabric you chose is so fun and is the perfect complement to the pillows you have on the chaise. Enjoy it!
That fabric looks so inviting! How could anyone not like those chairs. Good Job.
You gave those chairs a whole new life. Great transformation.

Great job, they turned out well. Looks so nice on your patio :)
What great fabric! Appropriate for a hostess like you, since it is a symbol of hospitality. In colonial New England when a family was home ready to receive visitors, one would know by the pineapple presented in a wreath on the front door during Christmas time.
