Today the Nester is having a party on sharing our home goals for this next year, which is perfect because I was planning on doing a post on this very topic! My to-do list for my home this year is a bit lengthy, but still quite do-able. We have been in our home 2.5 years now, and my goal is to “finish” all of the rooms. (Is it really ever finished?) My thinking is that if I post my decorating goals for mi casa on my blog, then it will further motivate me to carry those goals out. So without further ado…

Cleaning/Organizing/Misc:

• Get carpets cleaned
• Hold a garage sale in the spring (proceeds go toward my decorating goals :) )

Entry:

• Paint back of bookshelves (I’m leaning toward greige or Black Fox)

Living Room:

• Purchase this area rug
• New pillows for couch
• Hang brass sconces (I already own)
• Purchase this console (I am in love with this piece!)

Kitchen:

• Add under-cabinet lighting
• Fix the roman shade over sink (it’s sewn crookedly)
• Touch up paint on cabinets

Dining Room:

• Buy more Blue Willow plates to fill my plate rack
• Be on the lookout for an antique persian rug to go under DR table
• Recover DR seats with a great fabric (Chinoserie-inpsired with floral/peacock/birds and hints of blue, and coral)

Master Bedroom:

• Glam chandelier to replace existing hideous fan

Office:

• Find a solution for the existing fan
• Cover bulletin boards in fabric
• Rearrange accessories

Hall Bath:

• Make pelmet box for over window

So, there it is! I have my work cut out for me, but I’m excited to tackle these projects! I will posting the projects that ensue and pictures of progress!
